Poetically Soothing and deeply rooted in the heart of the soul itself Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist Randy Niles is a gem just waiting to be discovered. With his unique blend of Indie/Acoustic/Soul Randy has been compared to and described as "A hybrid between Bret Dennen and John Mayer." ~Tina Benitez - NY Examiner, NY Press, AOL, Royal Flush Magazine.
Performing all over the NYC area, and expanding to the outer Northeast regions Randy is no stranger to putting hard work before talent. He has performed at highly respected venues such as The Bitter End, Crash Mansion, Webster Hall, The Rockwood Music Hall, Gavin DeGraws National Underground, San Diego Music Festival, Main University, Columbia University, Utica Music Festival, opened for Australian Singer/Songwriter Ry Cuming (Jive/Sony Recording Artist) and has also toured independently in Japan under the name The Randy Niles Project where he sold out The Crocodile (Shibuya,Japan) which was an unexpected feat since he was the opening act for the headliner.
In mid 2007 Randy sought out assistance in putting his vision of combining his love for Rock, Pop, Blues, Folk, and Indie Acoustic all together under the same umbrella to birth a sound and style that was truly all his own. Strapped for cash under a barter deal he tracked his guitars and vocals first at a downtown NY studio and then had to do "sneak/after hrs" sessions at a popular NY recording studio to track drums for the album. Though it proved difficult having only one night to accomplish Randy had successfully completed the album titled "Along the Way" and released it just before 2008.
He then set out on a one man acoustic tour across the northeast, playing every coffee house and venue that would allow him in. Through his persistence he garnered many opportunities such as winning first place and advancing to the finals for the Emergenza Music Festival which saw him through two back to back nights at the legendary Webster Hall (NYC) and also winning the Emergenza Micro Festival in Hartford CT. He also on his own will attended the SXSW Music Fest in 2008 where he met up with a prestigious PR Rep who later aided in another self funded tour with an emerging band from Ohio which ran through the summer of 08 and also landed himself a spot at the Ocean Beach Music Festival in San Diego.
Running no short of steam Randy headed back into the studio to begin working on tracks which he had previously been recording at his home studio as ideas for a new album. After a chance meet with producer/engineer Ryoji Hata (David Bowe, Duncan Sheik, Dave Navarro) the two decided to get to work on what was to become Randy's 2010 release titled "Perfect", a 5 song EP which strongly showcases Randy's vocal and composing ability. During the Fall of 2009 after 8 months of recovering from a serious illness Randy returned to performing landing a Showcase spot at the Utica Music Festival and setting out on another short tour performing at venues throughout the Upstate NY region, and even busking as he made his way back South to NYC.
For Randy "Perfect" defines a growth process that is evident and slowly begins to reveal the powerful, and soulful release of an artist who has been internally discovering the amount of influence and change they can make through their art. With a solid and confident foot on the ground 2010 plans to be a very busy year for this artist as he will be setting out on a solo Fall tour which kicks off with another showcase at The 2010 Utica Music Festival in support of his new EP.
